I bought this camera in 1998 before I went on my Uluru holiday. I had
always wanted to start some astrophotography so I looked around for a good cheap manual SLR I
could play around with. The KR5 was about as cheap as they come for a brand new camera. I paid
about $500 for it. It has a couple of extras like a tripod adaptor and shutter release cable. The
light meter is battery powered, but the batteries are often removed when doing astrophotos.
Almost all of the Astrophotos on this site are done with this camera.
